Brendan Boyle: “It is utterly ridiculous in 2015 that American citizens are still fighting for the right to vote.”

Perhaps it is because it is now past 4 a.m., but I feel like I have entered the twilight zone. We have 13.7 million Americans, at least, who are going to lose their health insurance because of this bill, another $500 million worth of cuts…

This bill truly was Robin Hood in reverse: it is robbing from the poor, taking away their healthcare (and) their food assistance in order to give money to the ultra and mega wealthy.

I do think our founders would be surprised and alarmed that this current Congress has not jealously guarded its prerogatives as the legislative branch, not just in the last two years but over the last 25 years.

No single piece of legislation in my time here in Congress will do more to add to the national debt than this one.
