James Paul Lankford is an American politician serving as the junior United States senator from Oklahoma since January 2015. A member of the Republican Party, Lankford has focused on issues such as healthcare, government spending, and religious freedom during his time in office. He previously served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015, representing Oklahoma's 5th congressional district.
We need to determine what is a water system in a community that desperately needs help for a water system and what is a grant that is going to do a study of sound in colonial Mexico.
We have $31 trillion in total debt. I think everyone on this dais is very aware of that.
What are you seeing as far as oversight right now on faith-based entities requesting an application for a grant?
Strong border security does not begin or end at the border. It requires interior enforcement to ensure that those who break the law and cross the border illegally face consequences and are deported.
Methamphetamine is cheaper today than it was 20 years ago, and the only reason for that is because it is more available.
Are you seeing the same thing in some of the illegal operations that are growing marijuana in the State?
I want to make a couple of quick comments to be able to get on the record and to be able to remind everybody that is here as well.

We have individuals that they cross the border, request to go to New York City for their asylum hearings, and they are here for two decades before that process is complete.
The dangers of that. What do you need the social media companies to do to be able to take responsibility for what is how their platform is being used?
Currently an individual crossing in Yuma that says, 'I want to request asylum,' it will be 18 years before final determination.
If an individual crosses in Yuma, Arizona...the next date available in New York City right now is in 2033.
This individual should have been stopped at the border and prevented from entering without status.
