It's important that we hear from Members. They, like you and I, represent and reflect the interests and the focus of their constituents all across the country.

NOAA has a broad array of responsibilities ranging from weather forecasting and climate prediction, to ocean and atmospheric observation.

I can't assume--I literally say that we can't assume an endless increasing budget.

At the end of the day, weather is non-partisan. Severe events don't travel along party lines.

Eliminating energy poverty is something we all want to achieve.

Absolutely, the ability to protect both citizens' lives and their property.

Given the ongoing drought covering much of the west, it is reasonable to conclude that this year's wildfire statistics could be historic.

Last year brought haunting images of devastating wildfires across the West. This year unfortunately could be even worse.

However, I am sure many of my western colleagues would agree that there is really not much of a true wildfire season anymore, with fires occurring year-round.

Wildfire is an important part of the ecosystem, and often occurs naturally.
