(c) Definitions.--In this section: (1) Securities.--The term ``securities'' has the same meaning as in section 3 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (15 U.S.C. 78c). (2) Covered person.--The term ``covered person'' means a Member, officer, or employee of the Senate, their spouse, and their dependents. (3) Covered transaction.--The term ``covered transaction'' means investment in securities in any company, any comparable economic interest acquired through synthetic means such as the use of derivatives, or short selling any publicly traded securities.…”
