By 1 o'clock in the afternoon, 2,000 people--7 percent of the people in this rural Appalachian county, Hocking County, Logan, OH--had come to this food bank; 2,000 people, 7 percent of the people who live in this county, many having driven 20 or 30 minutes to get there. Middle-class families in Ohio and throughout our Nation face higher costs for energy and health care and education, amidst stagnant wages and falling home prices.”
