I rise tonight to speak of a crisis of the President's own creation due to his war of choice in Iran and the confusion that has caused. It is my duty every day to speak for the families of Ohio who are being squeezed. Gas and diesel, oh my. The prices in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and across Ohio are now crippling, at their highest level since the summer of 2022. Prices are approaching a new all-time record according to data from AAA and Gas Buddy. Over the next 24 hours, Americans from coast to coast will spend half a billion dollars, $500 million more on gasoline than they would have on March 1. That is half a billion dollars with a b. The President promised to lower prices. He did the opposite. The Speaker is doing nothing to stop it. He is forcing the American people to be dragged along on this terrible ride. Here is some advice: Grow a spine. Do your job, Mr. Speaker. Bring up a vote to end this war.
