I join many of my colleagues today proudly wearing red and this pin to ask us to remember to bring our girls back who were kidnapped by Boko Haram. Mr. Speaker, I also returned to Washington this week from a busy district work period, where I advocated for homeownership, explored funding for early childhood through college education, and heard from seniors and veterans about their need for access to affordable health care. Unfortunately, it is very clear, Mr. Speaker, that the Republican leadership continues to turn a deaf ear to the American people, to our seniors, to our veterans, and to the next generation by putting forward legislation that does not work for my district in central Ohio or this Nation. Democrats, however, have put forth plans to help hard-working American families by making it easier to own a home, making it easier to send our children to college, and making it easier to have a secure and enjoyable retirement. Mr. Speaker, Republican leadership should listen to American families and help them attain the tools they need to achieve economic security for now and the future. ____________________
