“I am a strong proponent of extending MFN trade status for China, and that I intend to oppose the disapproval resolution. But having said that, I think even the strongest proponents of renewing MFN recognize that there are problems in China. During this debate, we will hear accounts of egregious human rights abuses, proliferation of nuclear technology, intimidation of Taiwan, and piracy of intellectual property.
