I have little confidence that EPA will move forward on a reasonable timeline with the only acceptable outcome-a complete asbestos ban.

EPA's actions under the Lautenberg Act have been so legally suspect that I believe we need to pass this bill regardless of whether EPA were to announce that it is moving forward with a full ban of asbestos.

I have worked with Linda for a number of years on chemical safety efforts.

I would think that the administration would want to be on the correct side of this issue in terms of maintaining a critical momentum with respect to the restoration that has happened

EPA's internal analysis corrected many flaws in the modeling underlying the proposed rule. And after doing so, EPA career staff concluded that instead of saving lives, the proposed rule would actually increase fatalities.
