We support the purpose of the Invasive Fish and Wildlife Protection Act.

I was grateful to hear Senator Blumenthal's very interesting legislation that I will support.

We have already seen Superstorm Sandy cost more than $60 billion.

Climate change is real, it is here and humans have a role to play in it.

Inaction on climate change will cost the Federal Government and our taxpayers billions and billions and billions of dollars.

But we in Congress must also do our part to ensure that the EPA has all of the resources it needs to do an effective job at cleaning up Superfund sites.

We are ahead of schedule. We are about 60 to 70 percent done with dredging PCBs out of the Hudson River.

The Hudson River is a real success story.

I would like to make sure that the restoration of the lake is completed in a timely manner.

Superfund is a very serious issue in New York State.

We need a policy like the FAMILY Act (H.R. 3712/S. 1810), introduced by Senator Gillibrand.

Family and medical leave insurance... would allow employees to take temporary leave to recover from illness or care for a sick loved one.

I want to make sure that specialty crop coverage which is so critical does not get lost or put at the bottom there.

I just want to end with I also look forward to working with you on some food safety initiatives...

Will you work with me to make sure we fund that because it is really vital for our State?

Can you assure us that the healthy food financing initiative will be administered in such a way that can get to all of these communities?

It provides loan and grant financing to attract grocery stores and other fresh food retailers to underserved areas, urban, suburban, rural.

That is great. Do you think FSA has all the stuff they need to do for what they need to do?

Do you think the margin protection program will be ready for September 1?

To incentivize folks to invest, yes. That is helpful.

I would like your commitment that you will work with me on this to come up with some solutions for how best to protect our servicemembers or their families.

I am very worried about tradeoffs we are making in terms of military families, particularly those who are the lowest paid.

You do not want Federal employees' kids to have better access to care than military families' kids. That is just not right.

The stress on mental health access is very high. Access to mental health services to treat PTSD and traumatic brain injury is still quite intense.
