Kathy Hochul is the 57th Governor of New York, having assumed office on August 24, 2021. She is the first female governor of the state. Prior to her governorship, Hochul served as the Lieutenant Governor of New York from January 1, 2015, until she became governor. Throughout her political career, she has focused on issues such as economic development, women's rights, and public safety.
