I was very disappointed that these sanctions will eventually be lifted.

A nuclear agreement doesn't whitewash the fact that Iran continues to remain a destabilizing actor in the region.

Congress gave itself 60 days to renew this deal, and I sincerely hope my colleagues take full advantage of this time to study this agreement.

We have a specific deal on the table, and we have to decide if that deal advances the national security interests of the United States and our allies.

These are complex issues, and I look forward to what should be an extremely informative hearing.

For me, the most problematic aspect of this agreement is that, again, after year 15, there will be no restrictions at all on Iran on their producing highly enriched uranium.

What is the alternative to this specific deal? If this deal doesn't go forward, can our sanctions regime and the P5+1 coalition hold?

While I am still reviewing the agreement, I must say I do have some serious questions and concerns about certain aspects of the deal.

It is important that we get input from a range of voices, and we are grateful for your time.

I think their program is much more sophisticated in terms of being buried under mountains and things like that, and wasn't necessarily the case 10 years ago.

It would have been easier to take out their nuclear capability way back when because it was a lot smaller.

I just think it shows a failure all the way around the political spectrum, not one party, everybody.

While we all find aspects of these negotiations that we don't like... it is not just accepting this deal or nothing.

Even if the alternative to this deal is a military action--I don't think it has to be.

I think one of the biggest problems with this deal is that the other countries in the region will pursue nuclear weapons.

We have to look at the choices that we have.

I have said from day one the devil is in the details.

This might be a good thing, given the way they have acted in Ukraine and in Eastern Europe.

If the United States were to lift a ban, it might make Russia less important.

The United States has more influence over global energy production today than we have had in generations.

We should put aside the question of whether these exchanges should take place, the value, as far as I am concerned is clear, but we should be asking how they take place.
