So please help us to help our constituents, to help our country. And then on the question as to whether you don't have the resources to do it, because we know how badly the Congress has treated you, talk about that. But don't say it can't…

We want to know how many of these cases there is some evidence of wrongdoing, whether it is criminal or not. And we want, categorically, immediately, the disposition of the 75 cases.

no matter what differences one might have with you, we all know that it is a common goal to make America stronger.

we have to train people who are not working, not productive, for jobs that we are begging for people to have these skills in order to work.

I hope that this hearing is not just an excuse to cut things and to be negative, but to find out how we can better use our resources for a better country.

It is absolutely stupid to say that: Working gives you self-esteem, it gives you pride, it gives you family unity, it keeps you out of trouble, it gives you health, and it gives you what it is like to be an American.

And I am asking, based on your experience, do you find that to be more effective than when the IRS trained the collectors?

I hate to say we are from the Congress and we are here to help you, but quite frankly, are these fly-by-night individuals? Is this an organized national scheme?

I think we ought to take this up with the Justice Department.

It seems as though the criminals have been bipartisan in their attempt to defraud innocent congressional people.

I think there is a wide range of areas that we can work with the IRS and be cooperative in a bipartisan way.
