Texas' supposed efforts to stop non-existent voter fraud are no more than a thinly veiled attempt to suppress Americans' right to vote, a right guaranteed in our Constitution.

Congress also must pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act to restore and strengthen the landmark Voting Rights Act.

We must fight to fulfill the American promise that voters choose their elected representatives rather than politicians picking their own voters.

In the lead-up to the 2008 financial crisis, the bond rating agencies assigned AAA ratings to worthless mortgage-backed securities.

I am very concerned about the lagging vaccinations and the rates of the vaccinations in younger Americans.

The Federal Government has the opportunity to lead the way on paid leave and fostering a family friendly workplace.

We need to build on this historic achievement by bringing the Federal Government's employment policies in line with leading companies in the private sector and, indeed, the rest of the world.

In 2019, Congress passed my landmark legislation guaranteeing paid parental leave for the birth, adoption, or fostering of a child for more than 2 million Federal employees.

This is a policy that is long overdue for the Federal work force and for our Nation.

However, recent events show that much work remains to be done.

These recent developments make clear the urgent and ongoing need for action to correct the disturbing pattern of harassment, retaliation, racism, and discrimination within the Coast Guard.

We must protect those who dedicate their lives to protecting us. It is our duty, Admiral Schultz, and it is our duty in Congress.
