This is a very important issue, one that affects all the U.S. territories. And I commend the Chairman and the members of this Committee. We have to address this issue. It cannot continue to persist.

American citizens living in our territories are too often overlooked, mistreated, and forgotten, and the government services many of them depend on are treated similarly.

That is a very sad fact that we need to address.

To start, I want to make it clear that it is my priority, as a member of this Committee as well as the Ways and Means Committee, to ensure all Americans, including those living in U.S. territories, have access to affordable and quality…

I believe that we must work together to protect health care coverage for individuals who like their current health care plans, expand coverage for Americans who still need it, and to bring down health care costs for everyone.
