It is imperative that the Coast Guard holds these leaders accountable for retaliation and ensure survivors are made whole.

I strongly support this legislation. I co-sponsored it last Congress and look forward to having an opportunity to move it forward this Congress.

I think that, by and large, there is bipartisan support for what we are intending to accomplish on behalf of these front-line employees.

Although I doubt that anyone would disagree with making sure that Federal firearms are secure, this hearing seems to me to be a bit of a red herring.
