Lawmakers in state capitals including Trenton and in several other state capitals around the country have raided the funds set aside to improve the 9-1-1 system.

I commend the Commission and the members of the subcommittee for the good, bipartisan work that has occurred over the past year and a half.

I think that would be extremely unfortunate, and that does not really complete the task. And I think the task needs to be completed. Now, of course, a phase 3 would require support from Democratic colleagues, because of the filibuster rule…
