I will be really brief. My amendment states that none of the funds made available by this Act could be used to do an informal base realignment and closure. As you may be aware, the Senate version of the National Defense Authorization Act calls for an independent commission that would help determine the Air Force's force structure. I know that many Members of this Chamber also want Congress to have our say on this issue. And my amendment will help ensure that we do. I thank the chairman and the members of the subcommittee for working with me on this important amendment. I yield back the balance of my time. The Acting CHAIR.
