I think the gay community is justifiably frustrated with a legacy of homophobia and the criminal justice system ironically not always being responsive.
I think the point that I was making was that a jail sentence per se, a long jail sentence, wouldn't serve the purposes of retribution. Wouldn't educate society as to homophobia.
