Thank you, Mr. Waxman. Mr. Speaker, I rise in support of the Drug Quality and Security Act. This bill represents a bipartisan, bicameral effort to clarify current pharmaceutical compounding laws and secure our Nation's pharmaceutical drug…
Frank Pallone
The Public Record
Frank Joseph Pallone is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for New Jersey's 6th congressional district since 1993. A member of the Democratic Party, Pallone has been a prominent advocate for health care reform, environmental protection, and consumer rights. He has played a key role in shaping legislation related to public health and climate change, often speaking out against policies he views as detrimental to these areas.
I heard the same thing on the Republican side of the aisle: Why doesn't the President compromise? The bottom line is that the President is always willing to negotiate on the issues of the budget, as are the House Democrats. But what we are…
I want to thank the gentleman from California and all of my colleagues who came to the floor in the aftermath of that hour from the GOP side of basically criticizing, on the Republican side, the health care reform--the Affordable Care Act…
The bill before us today is nothing more than another page out of the Republican playbook to delay, derail, and otherwise repeal the Affordable Care Act. Rather than a productive, bipartisan effort to ensure successful implementation…
I now yield 3 minutes to the chairman emeritus of the Energy and Commerce Committee, Mr. Dingell. (Mr. DINGELL asked and was given permission to revise and extend his remarks.)
I ask how much time remains on both sides. The SPEAKER pro tempore. The gentleman from New Jersey has 5 minutes remaining, and the gentlewoman from North Carolina has 6 minutes remaining.
I have been advocating for flexibility to be incorporated into the Act, and I have called the 10-year rebuilding timeframe too rigid and arbitrary.
The requirement to rebuild within 10 years if biologically possible eliminates certain management options from consideration that could lead to greater social and economic benefits while still supporting stock recovery in the long run.
I am a little skeptical the system can actually function as advertised on October 1st, given the myriad of missed deadlines by the administration.
We don't usually start oversight and ask a myriad of questions before the program has even begun and before there is any indication that there is any kind of misuse of funds.
It is time that the Republicans stop trying to obstruct the law. Health care reform is undeniably moving forward.
