Naming the nation’s traumatic brain injury program in Bill Pascrell’s honor is a meaningful tribute to my dear friend, who believed people living with traumatic brain injuries deserved a voice in the Congress.

If they cannot be operated in compliance with federal law and the Constitution, GEO Group, CoreCivic, and any other private contractors should not continue to profit from taxpayer dollars, and the detention centers must be closed.

I will continue fighting for an immigration system that upholds due process, keeps families together and treats everyone with dignity while providing a pathway to citizenship.
