I honestly believe, and I will say this now, that I think that the opportunity does exist over the next few days to get a number of our Republican colleagues to join us on this and to defeat this effort to try to spend the alleged surplus. But of course I have to say that it is true that the idea is coming from the Republican leadership, and that is why so many of us on the Democratic side are speaking out against it.
