I am convinced and the only way to explain it is because of the administration's ties to big oil and their history. I am not going to go on forever about it, but I just wanted to mention that big oil give $3.2 million to the Bush campaign in the last election and $25.6 million to Republicans overall, and other sectors of the energy industry have been similarly generous. If one thinks about it, we have the President himself who was involved in oil ventures in Texas and abroad in the 1980s. He run Arbusto Energy Firm, which after a few years become the Bush Exploration Oil Company.
