I mean, I do not think most people could imagine that their doctor is not allowed to tell them something about their medical condition or possible treatment. It seems to go against the First Amendment, which it probably does if it ever went to court or ever traveled to the Supreme Court for an opinion on it. To imagine that HMOs now are allowed to gag the doctors into telling their patients what they should know, it is inconceivable to me.
