Frank Lautenberg: “We do not expect convicted terrorists to be set free.”

Identity theft is a serious and growing problem in the United States and a daunting challenge for the IRS.

We need to look beyond legal distinctions or classes of harms to look at the erosion of trust in the ecosystem.

I believe it is time for this subcommittee and others to give serious thought to the way the IRS is funded.

Efforts to consolidate these grants could shift critical grant funds away from the areas most at-risk for a terror attack, like my State of New Jersey.
