Republicans in the Congress continue to call for even deeper budget cuts--despite clear evidence that the austerity agenda they have championed has slowed the pace of job growth and needlessly increased the suffering of children, seniors…

I am deeply troubled with this budget. The Coast Guard does not have adequate funding to do everything we expect them to do.

We simply can't afford to ignore the lessons from past accidents and crashes.
