Some will say now isn't the time to make public investments. Some will say we can't afford it.

It is time that we give them the resources they need to keep us safe.

I have long been concerned with the understaffing of air traffic controllers at Newark Liberty and I am concerned the sequestration-imposed air traffic controller furloughs will disproportionately impact this airport.

I am honored to serve as chairman of this subcommittee, which has jurisdiction over crucial Federal programs that support our economy.
