I am honored to serve as chairman of this subcommittee, which has jurisdiction over crucial Federal programs that support our economy.

I am deeply troubled with this budget. The Coast Guard does not have adequate funding to do everything we expect them to do.

We must continue to be thorough in this investigation and analysis to ensure that this risk is eliminated.

If we expect the Coast Guard to perform all we ask them to do, we need to fund them properly.
