Frank Lautenberg: “But for now, there is not enough work to be done that a 20 percent cut would not impair?”

I am deeply concerned that recent cuts to the IRS budget are jeopardizing its ability to carry out this vital mission.

The IRS must be funded at a level that enables it to provide necessary taxpayer assistance and to enforce the laws.

I believe it is time for this subcommittee and others to give serious thought to the way the IRS is funded.
