There are millions of people every day that depend on railroads and trains and Amtrak and local train systems to get back and forth to work.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the Surface Transportation Board's (STB or Board) efforts over the past year.

Thanks in large part to this Committee's past efforts, Congress passed the STB Reauthorization Act of 2015.

It is critical for us to create new guidelines to fortify our ports and maritime security framework.
