I certainly applaud your addition to your amendment. Sonny Montgomery was such a good friend when I first came to the House of Representatives. He, of course, was a senior member of the Armed Services Committee, gave guidance and advice; and I had the opportunity to be on the Personnel Subcommittee when his bill, later known as the Sonny Montgomery GI bill, came through, and I had the opportunity to work on an amendment at the subcommittee level, as a matter of fact. He was a true gentleman's gentleman, a real inspiration to those of us that worked with him, a credit to the House, a credit to the military, a credit to the National Guard, most of all a credit to our Nation. So it is certainly fitting and proper that you should name this measure after G.V. ``Sonny'' Montgomery.
