Congress can be an excellent backstop to you as you are moving down the road.
I totally agree with you about the dual containment and what we did in Iraq, which is one of the reasons I voted against the Iraq War when I was in the House of Representatives.
I would just say that Congress' approval of a deal to me would be reassuring that whatever deal that you have done will stand the test of time.
So if, in fact, the Congress felt that this deal did not rise to the sufficient level for the national interests and security of the United States and rejected it, it would not necessarily mean we would be at war with Iran.
I would just argue that, again, having Congress as a backstop as you enter these final steps... would be somewhat of an anchor.
I applaud the chairman for putting forward the proposal he has in terms of Congress weighing in on an ultimate agreement.
I think we should be moving to reauthorize the sanctions that Congress passed.
But now, it seems that borrowers of more modest means, instead of receiving modest, responsible loans, are having a hard time getting a mortgage at all.
there are those members of the committee and in the Congress who have a much different view than that.
