Could expanding the scope of hazardous materials subject to increased safety regulations prevent future tragedies like the one in East Palestine?

I am proud to have worked with my fellow members of this committee to pass the bipartisan FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024, which contains many provisions that are aimed at addressing our aviation workforce needs.

I thank the FAA for their participation in this workshop. I look forward to continuing to work with you on putting an end to this problem.

We have talked a lot in our Cybersecurity Subcommittee, this Congress, about how to streamline reporting requirements to make sure they are effective.
