I joined the bill, along with Senators Rick Scott and Marco Rubio, to ensure contracting firms are using taxpayer funds responsibly.

I continue to call on the FAR Council... to provide better guidance to agencies on how to handle conflicts of interest.

Simply put, if you want to contract with the U.S. Government...then at a bare minimum you need to comply with U.S. law.

It is outrageous that these companies...are putting profiting off of their deals with the Saudis over protecting the national security interests of the United States.

I am concerned about the possibility that if the legislation were written in such a way, or if contracting guidelines were scoped in such a way that companies could find loopholes, then that would be disastrous for us.

I want that balance to be in a more conservative direction.

Once the Department of Defense fully implements this law it will provide additional safeguards against conflicts of interest that compromise our national security.

I expect when somebody contracts with the Federal Government that they will put the people of the United States interests first.

Our nonpartisan civil service is essential for our government to operate effectively and protect U.S. national security interests.

The idea of Schedule F is so concerning to me.

If the goal is to actually ensure that agencies work effectively, for the citizens, for your constituents, then what we need to do is actually look at the root management causes around this.

The integrity of our civil service is paramount to our democracy.
