Kelly Ayotte is a former United States Senator from New Hampshire, serving from January 5, 2011, to January 3, 2017. A member of the Republican Party, she was the first woman to represent New Hampshire in the Senate. During her tenure, Ayotte focused on issues such as national security, fiscal responsibility, and education reform. She was known for her bipartisan approach and worked on various initiatives to strengthen the military and improve veterans' services.
I was pleased to include authorizations in the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) and Senate-passed bills for two much-needed New Hampshire Army National Guard vehicle maintenance shops.
I have an amendment in that focuses on cooperation with the Israelis because they have the tunnel issue with Hamas and Hezbollah.
I think it's something we really have to look at, especially as we're looking at our force posture in Afghanistan.
I think they're proven to be anemic, given their continuing testing of ballistic missiles.
What worries me, and what I think we need to understand, is what risk we are taking on.
I've introduced legislation to impose real sanctions on Iran for their ballistic missile program.
Mr. Carson and Mr. Weiler, do you both agree that we should avoid the use of involuntary separations as much as possible?
I expect that report to be submitted really before this process on nominations go forward.
I would suggest that this is a valid law. Not only should no one in the executive branch suggest that this is going to happen, but it would be against the law.
