I am writing in opposition to Rep. Hastings' H.R. 2231, the 'Offshore Energy and Jobs Act,' which would dramatically and hastily expand oil and gas drilling in our Nation's most sensitive coastal areas.
In my home State of North Carolina, offshore drilling is highly controversial because of its potential adverse impacts on the environment and coastal communities.
