This bill is a great tool for our communities and national forests, and I am proud to support it.

Timber harvesting is one of the largest and most important industries in northern Minnesota.

I want to thank the bills' sponsors for introducing these pieces of common-sense legislation that will enable communities across the nation to better manage our public lands.

Your Administration pulled the leases for political purposes.

During the 2020 election, then-candidate Biden told the American people we would mine, process, and manufacture right here in the United States.

This Administration cannot be trusted, and it especially cannot be trusted to support domestic mining.

Without a Rosemont fix in place, we are effectively giving the Administration the opportunity to shut down domestic mining.

Requiring the discovery of a valuable mineral deposit before allowing any reasonably incident mining uses, including the removal of any minerals, puts the cart before the horse, since such uses and removal are necessary to make a discovery.

Small businesses have struggled under this administration, whether it is rising inflation due to Bidenomics, supply chain issues, or workforce shortages.

Ending the crime crisis should not be a partisan issue but, unfortunately, it seems that it is.

I implore you, Dr. Cruickshank, to ensure that BOEM conducts the NEPA process in a transparent manner to ensure that a lease sale is held in 2025.

Is that fair to my constituents?

Bidenomics coupled with this regulatory agenda is hurting small businesses.

Since President Biden took office, over 700 regulations have been passed, costing nearly $440,000,000,000.

This Administration's policy on mining, critical mineral mining, is anywhere but America, any worker but the American worker.

Keeping the oil and gas within the United States is going to help the United States in the energy sector reduce the cost of energy.

In my view, this is a common-sense approach we should be using for all forms of energy.

I urge my colleagues to support my efforts to allow for greater transparency when it comes to issuing policies that impact the paychecks and prosperity of all Americans.

Following his passing last year, I was honored to assume first sponsorship of the bill, and I did not hesitate to co-sponsor the legislation when Representative Peltola asked me to do so earlier this summer.

I want to also thank my colleague and good friend from the great state of Alaska, Representative Peltola, for her leadership in introducing this legislation.

Now, even our Federal lands meant for conservation, recreation, and development of our great natural resources are being turned into campgrounds for traffickers and terrorists who are marching into our country and breaking our immigration…

Did everybody hear that? Readiness from the United States would be in danger.

Quite frankly, this Administration has done nothing to promote domestic mining and has actually taken action to shut down our domestic mining industry and increase our reliance on China.
