I am so concerned about budget cuts proposed by the Administration to USDA.

I do believe that we do need to establish rules on that data ownership, and it does seem that the owner or the operator of the vehicle should be the owner of the data.

Senator Hoeven and I also worked on a bill to make it clear that the owner of a vehicle also owns any information collected by an onboard event data recorder.

Ensuring that highway construction workers are safe in a work zone is critical to the testing and deployment of connected automated vehicles.

Drivers should not drive in a distracted situation. We shouldn't rely entirely on the car to make up for human error.

I did a lot of work with MADD, and we passed finally in Minnesota the felony DWI law, which was helpful.

Are you willing to work with me and others on this committee to find innovative ways to fund our infrastructure?

I see Senator Portman is here, and along with Senator Hassan, we have been working hard on these issues for many years.

And we also have a bill with Senator Manchin that would put a fee on some of these drugs, and have, again, that go, per milligram, have that go to treatment.

I really look at this as three different things. One is trying to stop people from being addicted in the first place.

The 2016 FAA extension bill required the Department to take measures to allow families to sit together when traveling on a plane.

I recently led a letter with Senator Moran urging the DOT to investigate incidents of fraudulent and deceptive practices in the online travel and tourism marketplace.

The Safe Skies Act, which I plan to reintroduce, is something that I introduced with Senator Boxer.

We're very concerned about the negative effect, as this keeps going, that it is going to have on American carriers and, thus, American jobs.

Open Skies Agreements are an important part of the U.S. transportation policy for all air carriers.

I mostly want to thank Senator Portman for his leadership and his willingness to work across the aisle on this really important issue.

The second thing that I want to mention is the SALTS Act, which is a bill I have with Senator Lindsey Graham.

I am proud to be the lead Democrat on our bill. Senator Portman and I have the STOP Act.

I appreciate your leadership on the Republican side, Senator Portman, in objecting to these Medicaid cuts that we heard from the House.

I want to thank Senator Portman for his leadership on that bill and we worked in a bipartisan way with Senator Ayotte and Senator Whitehouse and myself.

And thank you as always, Senator Carper.

I think so many times people do not see that interconnection with farming but also with all of the other development that goes on in rural areas.

I think it is important to emphasize the infrastructure that is created by the workforce in USDA Rural Development.

I share the Chair's support for crop insurance and concern with the elimination of the--some of the crop insurance protections that have been discussed.

Thank you for holding this important hearing. I think so often, as we focus on the details and the minutiae of the farm bill, we forget the overall economic picture.
