Amy Jean Klobuchar is an American politician serving as the senior United States senator from Minnesota since 2007. A member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, she has focused on issues such as healthcare, infrastructure, and technology during her tenure. I am pleased that the Senate is moving forward on Monday to pass an extension of Unemployment Insurance, and I hope the House will act as well.
And I still think we have an issue, and I touched on this, with the long-term unemployed.
Linda wrote me recently, urging Congress to extend unemployment. She wrote: 'I feel like the people who are still jobless are being forgotten.'
So they actually looked at maybe they were wrong and it may have been the ignition switch.
And I think just as many of these other senators, my thoughts and prayers are with her family as they pursue justice, and all the families behind you.
So do you think if you had something better in place, there was potential for trying to prevent these tragedies in the future?
If the FCC had any intention to damage broadcasting, they made a good start with what they did yesterday.
It's the only way that many of the 650,000 satellite subscribers in our state can get access to video services is through satellite.
Satellite service is really important, especially in the rural part of Senator Franken's and my State.
I think we have seen subsequent updates to this law that give an additional boost to competition.

As you all know, this Committee is soon going to be holding a hearing on the merger between Comcast and Time Warner Cable.
Minnesota, as we know--I see the satellite dishes all over our State, especially in the rural areas.
I feel that I have been here for not that long, but I was here for that, and I am also on the Commerce Committee, so I live and breathe STELA.
Actions taken by the Fed and Congress helped bring about the economic recovery.
While we are still not where we would like to be, we have continued to make real progress recovering from the recession.
