Republicans have long championed the expansion of association health plans as an effective and affordable health care solution for many workers.

I find it ironic given committee Democrats recently passed radical legislation, the PRO Act that would take our labor laws back to the 1930's.

There is no question that healthcare costs are at the top of the minds for many Americans--most Americans and the cost of prescription drugs are a concern for workers and families.

I think we could do it. Instead of holding a hearing on this socialized drug pricing scheme, the committee's time would be better spent on finding bipartisan solutions to our nation's problems.

Mr. Holt, when Medicare's prescription drug program was implemented, it included a non-interference clause that prohibited the Secretary of HHS from intervening in negotiations between private firms or private plans.

Instead of working on this serious issue in a bipartisan manner, Speaker Pelosi's radical, partisan bill was drafted in secret.

This bill is a political ploy that will not be considered in the Senate or become law.

I represent many areas in my 7th District that are extremely rural, and many of the net-zero technologies we mentioned here today aren't exactly cheap or accessible in Adrian, Michigan, and the surrounding areas.

Hence, it would be incumbent upon us in government to make sure that we understand the market as well, understand what is out there.

I introduced the POW Priority Care Act which would move POWs to the front of the line, giving them Priority 1 Level VA care.

We can all agree that veterans and Prisoners of War should not have to struggle to get the proper healthcare and medical services that fits their needs.

Our servicemen and women give their all in the name of our nation and it is the obligation of Congress and our nation to give that same dedication to providing the highest quality care for when our heroes return home.

Prisoners of war have not only answered the call of duty, but they endured unthinkable hardship and made unquestioned sacrifice in service to our Nation.
