So I am fighting for myself, but I am fighting for my family, my children, my grandchild, and everybody else because we are not going to be subhuman citizens just because somebody thinks that they have the right to tell me what I should do…

I want to salute the witnesses and thank them for their time. It has been a long day, but the testimony has been powerful.

Thank you for coming to Washington at a critical moment in our Nation's history.

You came on behalf of states and Americans all across the country who are facing a similar rollback of their access to the ballot box.

Wouldn't it be something if we could create standards across this country so that when people went back to their community, they said, you know, I went and voted today and it worked out just fine for me

Things that can be dressed up as mere inconvenience or difficulty in accessing the ballot box are really just voter suppression.

End of the day, all we are trying to do is create a political ecosystem that puts the voter in a respectful place.

I am very proud to have worked with other members to lead a bipartisan bill called Tackling Residential Energy and Economic Savings Act, or the TREES Act...

Thanks very much, and even as we sort of try to push against the negative cumulative impacts when we think about environmental justice...

Poor communities across the country are surrounded by hundreds of giant polluting plants, but right now this is all legal under the Clean Water Act and the Clean Air Act.

I appreciate you mentioning telework just because I have worked on that issue for many, many years.

For too long, the Federal Government has failed to adequately recognize and address structural racism as the public health crisis that it is.

I deeply share the concerns of my constituents and those at our hearing today about the impacts that the coronavirus has had on communities of color.

This bill would actually help provide some parity to pediatricians who are spending that amount of time building that trusted relationship.

The Vaccines for Children program... is perhaps the most critical tool we can use to bring childhood vaccinations back on track.

Pediatricians, obviously, are a very trusted voice for parents when explaining the importance, safety, and effectiveness of vaccines.

Today's hearing is so important so we can examine the ways that Congress can act to make vaccinations and other key services even more affordable and accessible.

That is why I am a very strong supporter of school-based health centers.

As we continue to come out of the pandemic, we must make sure that we are building on the lessons that we learn and investing in reforms.

During this pandemic, we have all witnessed the power of timely, effective healthcare, and particularly the power of vaccinations.

We can trace back to one source, one family, the Sackler family, responsibility for fueling this opioid epidemic across the country.

This hearing isn't only about addressing the SACKLER Act, which has been introduced. It is trying to offer some measure of justice.

I think until you got called out significantly on the dangers around this product, the view from inside the company... is, if there's loss of life, that's a cost of doing business.

We are right now at--we are implementing the Safe Drinking Water Act standard-setting process as it is established.
