Our bill would connect and revitalize areas that have been harmed by the development of our national highway system.
We very much have to protect the ability of local communities to make those decisions.
I have heard several of the witnesses talk about the TAP Program, and I appreciate that.
Equity in transportation has been an issue for decades, and it is certainly getting increasing attention now.
We have consensus that the formula funding program is critically important and that it gives predictable flow of Federal support.
I want to thank all of our witnesses.
It is always best if you work together in a nonconfrontational way, to work with the same set of facts.
Clearly, we had challenges under the previous administration, and I was pretty vocal about that.
I support those efforts.
I hope that some of those resources will be used to expand the Federal partnership with the Chesapeake Bay.
