When you are going over to entitlement programs, you are talking about grandma and grandpa, and you are saying they are the ones that must sacrifice.

So I ask this question in the context of the world in which we are living, looking at the Middle East--

I believe we can actually take smart, balanced steps in Congress today to address deficits, while maintaining those critical investments.

There is a proposal to have $1 trillion of new nuclear weapons systems in our country over the next 20 years. That is a crazy number, from my perspective.

That is the future that you are talking about. That is how we project our power. It is through this incredible economic resource that we represent to the rest of the world.

So if we are not investing in the clean energy sector, if we are not investing in NIH, if we are not investing in cyber technology, if we are not investing in all of the areas that have been identified as growth areas, and if we are not…

The way President Obama has viewed his term of office is that he has tried to look at areas where there could be a pruning in the Federal budget, but at the same time, there has to be an investment strategy in health care, in education, in…

I happen to believe today we are wealthy enough and strong enough that we should have a balanced budget.

We want to deemphasize nuclear weapons in our national security doctrine.

The politics of it is you are not a real nation unless you can do it too.

I would like to just begin by thanking all of you for your lifelong commitment to nuclear nonproliferation.

So here we are, we are talking about India and Pakistan, we are talking about the nuclear proliferation.

I was going to make the proposal in the House to defeat it. I was successful in defeating it in the House.

I do not think nuclear weapons are very usable, period.

But you should first just decide yes or no, though. That would be helpful.

Do you think there should be a mandatory minimum for privacy protection?

So you think there should be rules that the information can't be used for marketing purposes?

We have to meet the challenges of the future.

You know, these new vehicles are computers on wheels. It's absolutely amazing what is happening.

Again, I think, ultimately, yes is the right answer so that there's a minimal standard, and, hopefully, we'll reach that day.

Do you think there should be a privacy protection for that that you're bound by, that you can't sell that information even though people would want to know who was coming into that area?

So can we go down on the privacy issue as well?

And that's what I'm asking. Should we say to NHTSA and to the Federal agencies----
