The Biden Administration and bipartisan Members of Congress have taken a firm stand in defense of universal human rights.

The U.S. must engage Haitian civil society and support Haitian-led efforts to restore peace, security, and human dignity.

I am deeply concerned by the pre-election violence we are seeing there.

Ultimately, our commitment to democracy and human rights should be the backbone of everything we do.

I applaud the Biden Administration's budget request, which would increase our funding for Latin America and the Caribbean by over 15 percent to the highest level in more than a decade.
