“I want to thank my colleagues on both sides of the aisle once again, specifically Senators Shaheen and Portman, Congressmen McKinley and Welch, Mr. Upton and Mr. Pallone, and certainly Mr. Rush of Illinois. All of them worked very diligently on this, and I know they are committed to efficiency. I want to just say one more time that I am specifically pleased that this legislation will stop the Department of Energy's regulation that would prohibit the manufacture of heat-resistant water heaters above 55 gallons. If that regulation had been allowed to continue, it would have cost the American public a lot more money going to the heat pump technology. So this legislation has stopped that. It is going to improve efficiency. I would urge all of my colleagues to support this legislation. I yield back the balance of my time.”
