I want to talk about the uncertainty factor that's out there.

I have seen huge success in our State along those lines.

That level of uncertainty that is created in the tax and regulatory environment in particular seems to be stymieing a lot of people.

We need faster, not slower growth rates taking place.

I believe the taxes kick in in year one, and the benefits not to year four.

America is a great country. We've dug ourselves out of ditches before, and we will dig out of this one again.

We need people investing. We need people moving forward. We need people creating jobs.

You're not going to go with 15 percent ethanol?

I will guarantee you----

Businesses are not reluctant to hire because they are waiting to see what Washington will do for them, they are reluctant to hire because they're afraid of what Washington will do to them.

I hope you'll be willing to come to the Congress if there's statutory authority that's needed by you, NIH, AID, others, and tell us how we move this process forward.

It's my hope we can move this process on forward, and in doing that, target this.

Do you have any technical response or thoughts to it?

I don't want to give somebody leadership, if you guys have worked it out internally, but it sure seems like----

It's really important for them to own this process. And we're not going to be there forever.

But, your ability to identify areas to work on----

We welcome Senator Brownback's recommendation to Administrator Shah to support the review process to shorten pathways for neglected diseases.

And I have noticed that a lot of key scientists around the world, some of the most cost-effective things we could do to improve lives of the most people is micronutrients.

We are delighted that the Brownback-Brown provisions have led to initiatives, such as the Priority Review Voucher Program.

We are particularly concerned about the neglected diseases that you presented earlier on.

With the support of Senator Brownback, Section 740 of the fiscal year 2010 Appropriation Act directs FDA to establish internal review groups.

I hope you can illuminate us on what's taking place, and what we can do to try to help out.
