Now, we know that abortion bans have deprived women in 22 States of access to abortion and criminalized doctors seeking to provide the highest quality care to their patients.

I just do want to start just by pushing back against some of the Republican claims and some from my colleagues that these abortion bans that are completely extreme and out of step are outside the scope of this hearing.

As a committee, we should be coming together to protect public health and fighting to make medical care more accessible for all Americans, but instead, House Republicans are working to undermine the doctor-patient relationship.

The U.S. under the Biden Administration has been incredibly strong on taking on Iran on the issue of human rights.

I think we can all agree that Iran is an oppressive and dangerous neighbor to everyone in the region.

This idea that we are somehow going to invade northern Mexico... is completely crazy.

I hope the American people understand how much damage and chaos, of course, this would unleash.

Governor Greg Abbot... took horrific actions by illegally deploying actual floating buoys, which we saw with blades on them, to maim innocent people at the border.

We should be clear that there is no way to an orderly border without a conversation about legal pathways.

Vaccines save lives. The pandemic cost us 1.3 plus million Americans. It is the single, largest, most devastating loss of life event that we have had in the modern era.

The track record on the House Republican side as it relates to this issue and the pandemic has been quite shameful.

We should encourage more reporting, not less, on UAPs.

We cannot be afraid of asking questions and we cannot be afraid of the truth.

If people cannot report incidents which would have national security or safety implications, then that also has serious consequences for us.

I hear over and over from many agencies the stigma around reporting and investigating UAPs prevents us from getting real answers.

We should come to this hearing with an open mind, and we should not let our existing ideas restrict us on either side.

Just want to also, just to be clear, just to review for the hearing, Democrats want to solve drug trafficking, we want to solve human trafficking, and certainly want to solve any sort of arms trafficking, which funds the cartels.

The Biden-Harris administration's national strategy for the Arctic region, which was published, of course, just last year, is a vital step in creating a cross-agency plan for the Arctic as it relates to the United States.
