Modernizing the Federal Government's IT systems needs to remain a top-priority for all agencies.

What can I tell my constituents that has transpired to reassure them that their tax dollars are being wisely spent?

Water is very expensive when we get it. It is even more expensive when we can't get it.

The problem for irrigators is in most years there is not enough water for them to access to irrigate.

In my view, Amtrak has reneged on what it committed to do

We will do everything that we can as members of this subcommittee, as appropriators, and as United States Senators to see that the bureau is equipped to prevent and combat an ever-changing landscape both here and abroad of criminal…

I want this subcommittee to be in a position in which we pursue whether or not taxpayer dollars are wisely spent.

I look forward to following that report's completion, having a full understanding of what transpired, because it will have consequences for others involved that we are investigating.

I want to make sure that we have those facts and the analysis in advance of the decision being made.

We say that the Army recruits soldiers, but retains families.

I want you to consider quality State, local, community investments in infrastructure, like housing and schools and transportation, tax credits for spouses, local incentives for military families, cost-free associate degrees for spouses.

Again, thank you for your public service and for your presence with us today.

I, too, expected there to be more questions in regard to trade.

My suggestion is that you make certain that we have a copy of that chart.

We need to work on our scheduling in the United States Senate.

Retaliatory tariffs have a significant economic harm on my agriculture producers, and therefore, on the State of Kansas.

I think tribes should be treated and deserve the sovereignty that they are entitled to by our Constitution.

I want to make certain that I don't miss the opportunity of highlighting, in this setting, the value of our continued support for our military men and women.

We have a funding responsibility, as a Congress. We have an oversight of equal value, in my view. And we need do both better.

I had expected that--perhaps a more pro forma response to my question. And I'm pleased to see that you're moving with alacrity.

Mr. Attorney General, before I turn to my questions, I want to thank you for your leadership on an issue that matters greatly to me.

I also recognize the concerns, expressed by some of my colleagues and by certain law enforcement entities in Kansas.

I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment of the law enforcement officials at the Department of Justice and across the country.
