Republican conviction, since the days of Lincoln, has always held that people are supreme.

It never even occurred to me to make that as one of the basic issues--what to do with Mr. Khrushchev.

Frankly, I am hopeful that we may make progress on these great issues.

I just can't predict what the final results will be.
