We will look for opportunities to advance school choice and continue our work to improve traditional public schools.
I challenge anyone on this committee to say they would [leave their children trapped in a failing school].
I think this is one of the interesting unintended consequences of the ACA, is the ingenuity that it sparked in trying to get around the obstacles.
It was built on lies. If you wanted your plan, you could keep it. If you wanted your doctor, you could keep it; all that nonsense.
I think this is one of the impacts of the Affordable Care Act that we have to find better solutions to allow employers to continue to provide that kind of service to their employees that they think is very, very important.
People have seen extraordinary increases. People who had health insurance before have seen extraordinary increases in the cost of their premiums, 25 percent average increase in premiums across the country.
None of the plans are contradictory. It is not a matter of not knowing what we need to replace these things with.
So, clearly, what we have is not working. I think there are better solutions and I am looking forward to working with the college to achieve that.
